Wi-Fi 7 for business: Ruijie|Reyee and Ubiquiti U7 Pro XG

What Wi-Fi 7 really gives hotels, restaurants and offices. A comparison of Ruijie|Reyee (RG-RAP72Pro, RG-RAP52-OD) and Ubiquiti U7 Pro XG with 10/5/2.5/1 GbE uplink.

Wi-Fi 7 (the 802.11be standard) is no longer a marketing curiosity in 2025. New-generation access points are being specified in projects for hotels, restaurants, shopping centres and offices. Let's go through what it really delivers and which specific models we recommend today for clients in Thailand.

What Wi-Fi 7 brings to a business

  • MLO (Multi-Link Operation) — parallel operation on different bands. A device uses 5 and 6 GHz at the same time, which improves throughput and reduces latency.
  • Channel widths up to 320 MHz in 6 GHz — a real jump for current smartphones and laptops.
  • Improved OFDMA and MU-MIMO — more stability with lots of simultaneous clients.
  • Low latency — matters for video conferencing, gaming zones, and AR/VR entertainment in clubs.

Ruijie|Reyee — the fresh pick for hotels and restaurants

Ruijie Networks, under the Reyee brand, has one of the most competitive Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 lineups on the market. The vendor covers the full range of scenarios — from indoor APs for hotels and restaurants to outdoor APs for public spaces.

RG-RAP72Pro — ceiling Wi-Fi 7

  • Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) with MLO.
  • Ceiling mount, coverage up to 300 m².
  • Fits restaurant dining rooms, SPAs, hotel corridors and lobbies.
  • AI-based RF optimisation with no manual tuning.
  • Integrates with Ruijie enterprise switches.

RG-RAP52-OD — outdoor access point

  • Up to 96 simultaneous connections.
  • Ideal for terraces, beachfront zones, parking lots and public areas with heavy user density.
  • MU-MIMO and beamforming — stable performance under heavy load.
  • Mesh capability — easy coverage expansion without extra cabling.

WIO (Intelligent Wi-Fi Optimisation) and Reyee Mesh are worth calling out separately: they make day-to-day Ruijie Wi-Fi operation noticeably simpler than classic enterprise platforms. One-touch setup, automatic channel balancing and easy scaling — the result is that a hotel admin uses the Wi-Fi rather than fears it.

Ubiquiti U7 Pro XG — Wi-Fi 7 with 10 GbE

Ubiquiti U7 Pro XG — Wi-Fi 7 and up to 10 GbE uplink

Ubiquiti U7 Pro XG is the flagship Wi-Fi 7 access point in the UniFi line. The big differentiator is a multi-gig uplink: 10/5/2.5/1 GbE. That genuinely matters: Wi-Fi 7 throughput over the air is far above a classic 1 GbE port, so without multi-gig the AP becomes the bottleneck.

  • Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), MLO support and 6 GHz.
  • Uplink up to 10 GbE — no bottleneck.
  • The UniFi ecosystem: controller, switches, gateways, cameras — one pane of glass.
  • A strong fit for tech-forward venues: coworking, clubs, modern restaurants and offices.

A few practical notes on Wi-Fi 7

  • To get the full benefit you need a Wi-Fi 7 client. 2024–2025 smartphones and laptops — yes, older devices still benefit from the cleaner airtime.
  • Without 2.5G/10G switches everything will bottleneck on a 1 GbE port at the AP.
  • In Thailand 6 GHz regulation matters — we specify models approved by the local regulator.
  • A large venue is a designed Wi-Fi project. Just "scattering 4–5 APs across the ceiling" is not enough.

WLTT has been designing and installing Wi-Fi networks in Thailand since 2017. We work with both Ruijie/Reyee and Ubiquiti — we pick the brand and model by the brief, not the other way around. If you are opening a hotel, restaurant or office and want 2025-grade Wi-Fi rather than "what we usually do" — get in touch.
