The Challenge: Live Beach Picture 24/7

Beach webcams in Thailand are not just a "pretty view". It's a technically non-trivial engineering task: the camera runs around the clock, in heat, humidity, salt air and unstable power — and the stream must be delivered to viewers worldwide without interruption. In this case study we share how WLTT builds such streams.

1. Camera Selection

For coastal sites we use IP cameras rated at least IP66, anti-corrosion housing, WDR (to avoid sun and water glare blinding) and a good low-light sensor. We match the lens to the scene — wide angle for beach panoramas or varifocal for framing flexibility.

2. Power & Protection

Tropical thunderstorms are outdoor electronics' worst enemy. We spec surge protection on power and data lines, UPS for voltage dips, and careful waterproofing of cable entries. We often use PoE — one cable for both power and data.

3. Signal Transmission

Where a wired path exists we run structured cabling (as a telecom company, this is our core skill). Where it doesn't, we install point-to-point wireless bridges or a 4G/5G router with a backup channel. The goal: a stable uplink with no stream drops.

4. Streaming & Fault Tolerance

The feed is encoded (H.264/H.265) and pushed to a media server/CDN to handle concurrent viewers. We configure auto-restart, availability monitoring and alerts — if the camera goes down, we know before the viewer does.

What This Gives Business

A live stream is a powerful marketing tool for hotels, restaurants and resorts: it builds trust and engagement, retains audience and drives brand awareness. And it's the same infrastructure as security CCTV — dual use is possible.
